The main purpose of this work is to study the different topologies existing in the threephase AC-AC converters applied specifically for speed variation applications (variable speed drives in short VSD) to supply an asynchronous machine. A small introduction to the control techniques applied on them was presented as well. Various topologies were presented while making points in the difference between them in term of rectifier stage, DC link storage and inverter stage.en_US
