The main purpose of this work is to study the different topologies existing in the threephase AC-AC converters applied specifically for speed variation applications (variable speed drives in short VSD) to supply an asynchronous machine. A detailed presentation about the direct AC-AC converters also known as Matrix converters was displayed by its different structures in both direct MC , Indirect MC and others . A comparison between those structures was made to show their advantages and disadvantage .en_US
