dc.description.abstractThis paper delves into the relationship between lean manufacturing principles and Industry 4.0, emphasizing their mutual impact on operational efficiencies and performance. While lean manufacturing plays a vital role in waste reduction and continuous improvement within production systems, Industry 4.0 represents a shift towards digital transformation and automation, driving smart manufacturing. The integration of these two paradigms offers opportunities for synergistic enhancement in operational effectiveness. Through a literature review, this paper explores three perspectives: the role of lean as an enabler for Industry 4.0 implementation, how Industry 4.0 advances lean manufacturing practices, and the correlation between these two paradigms. The term "Lean 4.0" describes the integration of lean principles with innovative Industry 4.0 tools, promising optimization of operations and adaptation to the demands of the digital age for organizations.en_US
