Abstract: The purpose of this work is to characterize, by means of finite volume method, the heat transfer of an incompressible Casson fluid flowing in a circular pipe maintained at uniform temperature. The study deals with the influence of Reynolds and Casson numbers on heat transfer. Because of the viscous character of this type of fluid, viscous dissipation is taken into account. The results show that the increase of the Reynolds number leads to the increase of the Nusselt number at the inlet. Furthermore, the latter is increased downstream when the Casson number increases. The introduction of viscous dissipation improves significantly heat transfer.
