Abstract: When we talk about heating technologies, Induction Heating (IH) is one of the most important and most used technologies nowadays for many reasons, for instance, it’s environmentally friendly which means zero pollution, it has the advantage of homogeneous heating, and also, it’s used in many applications: industrial, medical, and domestic applications. This thesis investigates the theoretical background behind IH, discusses different industrial applications of IH, also different types of power supplies and converter topologies used in IH systems for power regulation are mentioned in detail. However, the efficiency of IH systems don’t just depend on the power supply, but also on the control and modulation techniques, that is why this thesis also explains different modulation techniques used for voltage-fed inverters. At the end, a simulation of the power supply circuit was performed and confirmed with a small prototype.
